Makiling Ensemble Launches "Medyo Modern", A
CD of Original Pinoy World Music After almost 4 years of playing gigs and concerts, the Makiling Ensemble is finally releasing "Medyo Modern", an independently produced CD of their original music mostly composed and arranged by band leader Diwa de Leon. The album comprises of ten(10) numbers; nine(9) instrumental with vocal chanting and one (1) with lyrics. Cuban-trained percussionist Roberto "Bo" Razon lends his talents in playing African bata drums in one song called Indian Ragas. The album will be distributed by N/A Records. The CD launching will be held at Freedom Bar
along Anonas cor. Aurora Blvd. on the 21st of October 2000. The event starts at 9 pm
and there will be no cover charge for this particular event. Other bands will be
joining Makiling Ensemble as they celebrate the release of their first album. The
band line-up includes Sugar Free, Imago, Radioactive
Sago Project, Talula Craft, Purplechickens,
Pula, Brainwashed Noodles, ANINO Shaodwplay Collective, Musicians for
Peace and Okto Kanto. |
